A day that will never be forgotten...

Five years have gone by...and it's like it happened yesterday, but yet so long ago. September 11, a day that will be talked about and remembered forever. What would have been a typical day for most, 9/11/01 is now a day that will be forever engraved in our heart and minds. Most people can picture that day, where they where and the reactions of those around them. I know I will always remember the sunny day driving to work, how I thought it was a horrible joke from a local radio DJ, and the reactions from everyone around me. After work, picking up my baby, hugging him and wondering what kind of world I had brought him into. My generation was not here for Pearl Harbor or JFK assassination, so this day will forever be with us. This day, 5 years ago, I cried and will every year.

It doesn't get easier to see how the wives of heroes have moved on, their accomplishments in 9/11 foundations, books and so forth. Each year it isn't easier to see how the children born after 9/11 are growing up without knowing their daddies. After watching some today, it was heart wrenching watching a widow say to her hero in heaven, "I just want to hold you once more."

As to say...cue tears...
On that note...

A day never to be forgotten.
