Pull up a seat...here's my table...

Lori from glass half full is having a photo tag of family tables. It took me awhile to share, mostly because I dread my kitchen and didn't want to share it's ugliness. So, I tried to get creative...

This table was handed down to us from my mother since we did not have the means to buy a new one 7 years ago. Since then, it's just stuck with us. I remember when my mother purchased this table. It was a big deal, a major purchase for a single mother of two. I've been eating at this table since the fifth grade and this is the only table my son has ever known besides a high chair.

Although we don't eat at the table very often together (mostly due to a hot kitchen), it still holds special memories of my childhood and for my own family. All the holiday dinners we've had, the birthday candles that were blown out over the years , reading the Sunday paper there, doing homework, laughs shared and tears that have puddled on it's scratched white top. Memories...and the ones to come are even more exciting.

Great photos, I don't know if I like the table more or the pictures. Both are really great!

Lovely table! My table is from Goodwill and has chairs that don't match! I wish I had thought of adding black and white photos so that the ugly chairs would have been hidden! LOL!

I'm embarrassed to take a pic of our table. It's about 15 years old. Five years ago, there was a fire on the room of our condo ... the water eventually came into our place and the table/chairs sat in water for a couple days 'til they move the stuff into storage. We keep meaning to replace it ... but it's still there five years later!
