Fat girl in little pants...

The time has come...
Yes, that time, you know the one right?
The painful realization that you are not going to get skinny, thinner or healthier by ordering your food by a number and those pants in the closet are never going to fit if you continue to do so.

Hi! I'm crooked eyebrow and I am a fat girl in little pants. I am addicted to most fast food joints, Starbucks, specifically a triple venti caramel macchiato. Let's see what else, there's mountain dew, pizza, cookies, large cuts of beef and anything else fattening and artery clogging. I am slowly killing myself and my pants are getting larger in size and I'm growing out of those quicker each day.

All my Tommy boy fans sing with me "Fat girl in little pants...fat girl in little pants..."

In all seriousness, I have made so many excuses on why not to try to loose weight, workout and keep at a diet, that it has damaged my will power to even start to get healthy.

So, with my trip to Mexico for my sister's wedding rounding the corner in 5 months, I don't want to be that fat girl in a little bridesmaid dress either. What to do? Confess on how much help I need and hopefully find the courage not to make any more lame excuses. At this point, my only hope is to see my goal in writing so I can't quit and disappoint myself further.

I quit smoking(almost 2 months!), I can stop eating crap too! First step. Stop ordering food by numbers at lunch. Nothing good can come from ordering a #1 and going large each day at lunch. Sounds logical right? Oh, and mountain dew. Oh how I'll miss you...

This week's goals:
1) No starbucks
2) No fast foods- I can't be trusted to order healthy till I make a clean break first
3) No mountain dew

oh how i adore tommy boy. sometimes i feel like fat guy in a little coat when i try to pull off the tiny purse look. doesn't. work.

i've been working with the "You on a Diet" and its going well. i figured that my little man is 3 months old and the huge amount of baby weight isn't coming off this time, so i need to step out of denial and into the light.

are you going off caffeine completely? i feel scared just imagining it..

I'm with you CE! I lost 3% of my body fat in 8 weeks during summer quarter. Cutting fast food is one of the first steps. It's just bad.

Starbucks can be not fat. I will get non fat hot choc no whip every now and again. I drink one Coke a day. It's water the rest of the time. I prefer Evian myself(trying to look like a water snob).
Fresh veggies and fruit helped me so much. We can really only get great produce for 3-4 months so I go hogwild.

Congrats on quitting smoking! That take stregnth and will power!!

Oh yeah and you gotta get moving, even if it's only a daily walk. ;)

I wish you well this week! What helped me go "no Starbucks" was to start making my drinks at home & healthier... will save you some $$ too! I'll be thinking of you. And I love that "fat guy in a little coat" song...

Some things that help me loose my baby weight:

For breakfast, only fruit & nuts (I like the emerald smoked almonds)

For Lunch, a salad loaded with as much stuff as I can get on a salad so I don't feel like I"m depriving myself (I like the blue cheese one at Culvers)

For Dinner, anything I want, just stop eating 2 hours before I go to bed.

Drink lots of water.

Good Luck!

Hi! Found you thru I Should Be Folding Laundry.
I am right with you on the fast food, only for me it is Coke, not Mountain Dew. It is like alcohol for me. I cannot stop! I did loose 30 pounds last year when I quit drinking Coke, doing absolutley nothing else, but unfortunatley I couldn't stay on that wagon. I slipped once, thinking I could have just one and I am right back to my super-size habit.
I'll be thinking of you and check back to see how you are doing. Good Luck!

I am very excited for you! I drove by a Starbucks today and said a little prayer for you. :)

If you want, I'll go to Mexico with you. I'm such a good friend.

It is hard to give up soda. I weaned myself off of Coke slowly and started drinking more and more water. I have lost 25 lbs by doing that. It was hard at first, but now I don't miss it. I was a 6 can a day Coke drinker. I still have a sip now and then, but it doesn't taste all that good and I wonder why I was so addicted before. Good luck to you!

Try green tea, and I stuffed myself with water to the point I didn't want anything because I was going to explode with water.
I'll send my positive thoughts your way, you can do this girlfriend!!

Unfortunately I had to go on Weight Watchers because I am a Mcdonald's addict.

Remember one day at a time:)

You are cracking me up, but I can relate so much with what you said. I started doing Weight Watcher's over a year ago now, and have dropped 54 lbs and have never felt better. The number one reason for trying it was I want to be able to play with my grand-kids and not be out of breath and also for other health reasons. You can eat what you want, but you count points. This summer was hard for me with vacation and other celebrations, but I am back on track again as of tonight, after the big chinese buffet we had for dinner....and after my weigh in at the doctor today. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers cause I know how hard it is when you love food! Make sure you drink lots of water and I drink a lot of crystal lite raspberry tea and peach tea...green tea is great also....

First of all, cut yourself a break. Quitting smoking is HUGE and normally people try to fill that void with food.

I know you can do this!!!!

Life without Starbucks scares me, but I have to do the same soon. =P Those drinks are CALORIC!!!

You go, Girl! It's tough but once you get going, you'll be fine. I've been back on track for a month. I've had a couple "bad" days but jumped back on track right away.
