The waiting game...

JC is sick and I just got out of a waiting room FULL of sick people. I think it's safe to say that I too, will be getting sick.

Let the waiting game begin...I'm guessing 4 days till I too can have a head cold and swollen lymph nodes. Accompanied by a barking cough and an achy body. Woo-hoo!

JC was in the urgent care first thing this morning and he took his new art supplies to a table and sat next to a barking (cough) kid. JC started to refuse to share his new markers and crayons with the kid because of germs. "Mom" he said, "he's sicker than me! I don't want HIS germs".

Needless to say, I made him share. BUT. As soon as the child was called into the doctors room, JC begged for me to go let him wash his hands to get the germs off. My kid? My kid begged to wash his hands?? He must be sick...

JC's words of advice for everyone today:

"wash your hands and sing happy birthday, then you know it's been long enough. that way you won't be sharing bacteria."

But in other news, woo-hoo!! I didn't have to go to work today!

Good idea about singing while washing. I've been doing it all wrong all these years.

Way to go JC! A kid after my own heart. I think the best gift I ever gave my kids was teaching them the art of proper hand washing and germ awareness.

I just wish there was a national hand washing day. Adults are worse than kids sometimes, for example...the new employee at hubby's work, I call him, "The Dirty Bubble."(from Spongebob)

Kudos to your kiddo--I like the "he's sicker than me!" part :) Have yo tried that Airborne tablets (I just get the store brand) I think it's seriously a magic potion of some sort. It seems to lessen the length and severity of the stuff flying around.

Don't you love it when kids really express their feelings in public? Hope you don't get sick!

The waiting room at the doctor's office is NO place for a sick person - I think.

My son does that! He washes his hands and sings the ABC's! So very awesome.
