Time flies.

Originally I had this long post about nothing planned for today, but then I was reminded of something far more important than my wants of a new coach purse, my need for a new mattress or my desire to go on another beach vacation.

Five years ago today President Bush announced the start of the war in Iraq.

FIVE years.

It seems like it was just yesterday, but yet it feels like it's been forever. So on a day where I was feeling selfish, instead I'm now reminded of all the blood, sweat and tears that our soldiers shed daily so I can have my family near me, sleep in my own bed and be in my home safely.

My heart , thanks and prayers continue to be with all the men and women in the military.

Wow, 5 years. You're right...seems like so long, but so fast at the same time.

Thanks for reminding us that we should always remember the soldiers out there fighting for us.

Wow, this day 5 years ago I was on a plane to Atlanta to go to a Navy Ball with my soon to be husband. When I was on the airplane the announcement was made, making my navy ball (which was supposed to be on the base) canceled! I bought a gorgeous dress and everything! (They restricted "civilians" on base since the security level was raised) It's crazy how much has changed in our world in those past 5 years. If you would have told me that day that we would be there for at least 5 years, at war, I would have thought you were crazy!

Five years...amazing. I remember being home, watching the shock and awe. I'm still horrified.

This is such a great post. I remember being pregnant with my 1st baby on Sept 11 and I also remember sitting on my couch watching the first attacks on Iraq. It does seem like yesterday!

I remember staying up all night with my colicky baby watching the videos from the front. We've ALL been through a lot these past 5 years!
