10 things, part VII

10 things part VII

"It is an absolute bonus to make friends out of colleagues, but we are genuinely friends and our relationships grow stronger everyday. We rely on each other for strength because we've been through so much in our lives already."

~Jennifer Aniston

After I read this I realized how much this applies to my own life. While working full time out side of the home, I will spend the majority of my life at work with people who start off as strangers and soon become friends. My co-workers make my 40 hours a week so much more tolerable and my life all the more richer.

The seventh installment of my "10 things I love about my life challenge" is the friendships I have created with my fellow co-workers. Without these select few my days, months and years I have spent at work would have been unbearable. These people have carried me through some rough patches in the last four years and have never let me down. We all have created a bond, knowing without each other, the day would be treacherous and never ending.

As co-workers and now friends, we know each other inside and out. We know the inner workings of our home lives, our personal thoughts and share a common ground of our work itself. With that comes an understanding that no one in your family can understand. Together, my co workers and I keep each other moving, motivated and our sanity intact. Without them, I would not enjoy my job as much as I do. I treasure all the down moments, our laughs, our frustrations and our celebrations. We have become in a sense, family and I do really love that.

I agree, I spend so much time with my co-workers I do think of a lot of them as friends and family.

I totally agree about getting along with co-workers it made working fun. I see the effects of the opposite with my hubby in his job.

Cute blog!

This is so cool. That is something (uh the only thing other than the money) that I miss about working.

Yes, so true. Our co-workers are like family, especially where I work, well, some of them...
Great post! The new look is very peaceful....
Oh, my sister used my tweezers while she was visiting and she loved them. She thanks you too.

You are very fortunate! I have started to realize that I am lucky with this too. If I do have to work away from home, I imagine this is the best possible way to do it.

Oh, I love your post! It is true that we spend so much time with co-workers, that it is so special when a wonderful bond is created. You made me think today of my very best friend in the entire world who I met at work more than 30 years ago... when I was pregnant with Audrey and she was pregnant with her son Matthew. We now are expecting grandchildren on the same day... JUNE 17th! We have had more laughs and tears and lunches (and even more since we both retired from teaching!) and now new babies together! Cheers for our co-workers!

Hello Mrs Crooked Eyebrow, I just popped back in after an unplanned hiatus (nothing bad, just end-of-school-year busy-ness), I am really enjoying your "10 things" series. I will have to make time to come back to read more. I've missed a lot!

Just had to say that I totally agree with you, coworkers are important. You don't have to be pals with everyone, but you do have to get along. And when you find people you connect with, you enjoy your job so much more! I made some life-long friends at the job I took when I moved to Richmond (16 years ago), and....bonus....I met my husband in the office that year too. I've had other jobs since and didn't enjoy the people as much, and often didn't enjoy my job so much either. I'm a stay-at-home mom now and although my "coworkers" aka "the kids" sometimes wear me out, they are very lovable and make my job so much fun!

That's all for now!
Will come back soon,
Katie

I still have 3 really good friends that I made at past jobs. There really is nothing else like bonding in a work place!
