There are not going to be any fancy summer vacations.
There are not going to be many beach trips.
There will not be very many free weekends.
Our summer is enjoyed only after work hours and usually only with a sprinkler.
Like tonight, it feels like our summer has finally begun here at the crooked house.

And I'm right there with you on summer vacations, beach trips, and free weekends.
We did buy the kids a water slide under the understanding that it's the summer fun for the next two years.

So jealous! Sprinklers mean summer to me too but sadly they are banned in Australia now because of the drought. My son will never know the pleasure of running through the sprinkler and falling flat on his face in the mud!

A sprinkler will make him very happy, for a very long time. Don't fret. Summer is where you are.
Now that's summer! We have a pool now, so the sprinkler has gone the way of the dinosaur. Kinda sad.
Those are fun times! You don't need to take a trip or go to the water park to enjoy summer. I grew up enjoying the sprinkler too. He looks very happy...and wet.
