Bored(and a lot of side notes like these)

Realistically I have nothing to write or post about. Really. Nothing. I'm bored and therefore by default am quite boring lately. Sure I can complain that my house is a mess, I'm tired, chubby and currently very dissatisfied with my employment. Honestly? Been there, blogged that...

Books? I have tons sitting there waiting for me, compliments of the greatest friend, Milk & Honey but it's too much effort to sit and turn pages. (Or is that I can quite seem to focus on anything longer than 20 minutes?) So I'm not groovin' on the reading bit yet...

T.V? Unfortunately Mr. JC has been ruling the television after school and nothing looks interesting. Besides watching Family Guy at night, I have not watched one single season of any show out there (unless you count Hanna Montana). No DWTS, AI, CSI (whats with all the abbreviations??) Sad to say, not even GA (Grey's Anatomy). Not down with the boob tube I suppose...

Knitting? Um no. My hands and brain don't cooperate. (hence the crooked eyebrows as well)

Exercise? Ha. That's all I have to say. HA....

Daydream? Sure. Every moment of my day, it's my only cure for boredom(at least while at work). I daydream about not working. I daydream of a new house and a body of a 20 year old. (I said it was a dream, come on!)Sadly, I even daydream about getting the time and energy to clean the bathroom finally. (screw the piles of laundry)

Now for my own amusement, share with me what you do when you are bored. Because of my lack of concentration today, I can't think of anymore besides sleep. Go ahead, how do you cure boredom?

well, I do all the things (except knit) that you said you just can't seem to do (right now). I read, I watch TV (huge reality tv fan, cause their reality is much more fun to watch than my OWN reality)...I walk, I blog, I read blogs, eat (working on THAT one)...so, yeah, I think that is about it.

You mean like when you're supposed to be finishing an assignment due four days ago and your editor wants it by 5? Hit F5 on Jezebel constantly to see if that dumb whore responded to you calling her out for saying that cutting = sin.

That and making sure each of your hipster ponies have roughly equal amounts of hair in the elastics. Because I'm hardcore.

Equal ponies are hardcore.
Equality is important, even with hair.

What's this on cutting=sin? Oh my. See, I am no longer bored. I must go read...

I find that drinking a bottle of wine generally cures boredom.

Wait, maybe that's not the best idea... Usually I can cure boredom by taking a bath or playing around on the internet, whether it's blogsurfing or spending WAY too much time on crimelibrary.com. Not the most productive way to cure boredom, but it works!

I eat. and then I feel bad about eating. And then I completely withdraw.

I cured my boredom while at home, I cleaned the floors, vacuumed the couch, cooked and did dishes.

Not to mention picking up 121,564 legos.

My boredom has been cured for now, until i return to work....

Boredom? What's that? I get bored in the car, so I'll check e-mail and voicemails and listen to music really loudly.

I'm all about safety.

I sometimes try to read, internet surf (which gets boring for me quick) read blogs, clean-bleh. BUT sometimes I am so bored, I don't want to do any of those things or sleep or anything. I just want someone to come, grab my hand and take me somewhere. But they don't, so I just sit there.
Sometimes, I go to see what the kids are doing, I sit in their rooms and just watch them play. They always include me, and give lots of hugs if I am sitting on the floor. Playing with them is refreshing.

Bored? No prob, eat, call a friend, take a walk, blog, read blogs, eat again, and read magazines when cannot read (concentrate-HA) on a full fledged book! Then, after you eat, go for a walk, with a friend, or a kid. The end.
Now, call me next time.

P.S. I think summer time lends itself to lazy boring days. Go with it. Except it does make creative blog posts a chore - take a look, I think that everyone has the same problem.

Read blogs!! hahaha.. pretty much what I'm doing now..
And there comes a point.. at about 2 or 3 pm when I've read every blog I normally read. and not one single person has updated more than once today! (I know.. SHOCKING!) So I start invvestigating new blogs.. reading all thier comments and going to new blogs..and on and on and on..
I pretty much waste about half my day at work reading blogs.. (Boy I hope my boss doesnt read your blog!) :)

When I'm bored? I eat. Or bake something and then eat it.
That could be my problem.

My cures for boredom? Of course, reading blogs -- I can never get enough of those. But also, I love to always have a good mystery read going. Or a long, soaking bath or working sudoku's (sometimes together!) help. Also, I will call a friend I haven't talked to in a while, or one of my sisters. Or, now that I'm taking a photography class, I like to just look for interesting photos to take! (and I know you like doing that too.)

Come to think of it -- I guess "boredom" is something of a blessing, since it means you actually have some flexible time to fill, and, as I remember, that's kind of rare when raising small children!
