Shop and I drop

Once upon a time I used to LOVE to shop. It was quite the norm to go store to store, driving from one shopping center to another. It's what we did. (every weekend)

Not the case anymore. Stores(chain stores) are not the same. The employees are not the same. The Customer Service is (definitely) not the same. Therefore *my* shopping experiences are not the same and this quite frankly upsets Crooked. Crooked wants to get her shop on...

Just today while in babies'R'us (Babies we ain't got shit in stockRus) there was not one employee on the floor to help the wandering folks trying to decipher baby registries. Not a soul to be found and when one could be bothered, I had to eat shit for asking if something was in stock. Really? Let me think about this...I'm spending money in your store that gives you a job and you are gonna make me feel put out? F and U.

Moving on. While one thing was out of stock, I searched for another and that too was out of stock. (Does babies R us stock anything beside bottles and pacifiers anymore?) Moving on down the registry I look for another, can you guess it? Yes, out of stock. Even better after I did find something? There was a massive crowd, crying babies, running toddlers and one cashier. At this point I started to feel my right eye twitch and my heart started pounding just at the thought of having to go school shopping next.

Where to? Target, because any shopping trip can't end without going there and dropping a butt load of money can it? It was, I am not kidding, a solid block of parents and whining kids. My chest was tight and then I realized I have started to hate shopping. More so because of people. People who no longer follow any social rules and behaviors. None. Even worse? People are teaching their kids the same behaviors in public. Ugh.

So after a few hours of shopping I am ready to drop. Soon my heart rate will return to normal, but for now I am staying away from crowds, shopping and mean ass store employees. When my barista at Starbucks starts being mean, I know my days of being strictly an online consumer are getting closer. (mean people suck)

I went on a shopping excursion to Target today too! I spend WAY too much money, but I try not to think about it.
I HATE crowds and it does seem like people don't have any common courtesy anymore. I totally agree.

Wow! I thought it was me and BabiesRUs.

All my friends rave about that store and it seems to me that it's a bunch of wasted space because nothing is ever in stock. A couple of times I was there, the computers to run the registries were down and the rude employees acted like it was no big deal. Just come back and try later! And EVERYONE registers there!!!

Perhaps I'm bitter because that place opened just as I was finished having kids!

You should seriously move to Pleasantville. Stores here have not forgotten about customer service. I used to feel like you,I hated going shopping because of the people and the crappy workers. Come visit me here and it will refresh your spirit! Just don't go on the Air Force Academy....

an A and a MEN to this one girl! I HATE it. I drive an hour to have the "privelidge" of being treated like crap by mean associates. By the time I have unpacked my double stroller and loaded up two toddlers..I just want someone to be nice to me.

Extreme rudeness hasn't hit our Target yet, but don't even get me started on Walmart! Here ya go is not a synonym for thank you.

I can't stand babiesrus and what I can't stand even more is it seems they are just about the only place to get baby junk. It's maddening.

Target - ugh. I fill like as soon as I walk in the door they just take $100 out of my wallet. I don't even have to look at stuff, they just take it.

I'm sorry you aren't enjoying shopping any more. :(

Honestly, I love shopping for others. It makes me happy, very happy. I suppose it's just upsetting to have it ruined when the store treats you like crap and what you want to buy isn't there. Mood spoiler I guess.

When I was pregnant, I was so overwhelmed with the madhouse that is Babies R Us that I did all of my registering online. And when I had to go pick out a crib, I took a day off work, with the hope that it wouldn't be so nuts on a Monday morning. I'm glad I'm not the only who finds it akin to the seventh level of Hell.
