Where has CE been? (she's been hot)

Yeah hi there!
It's been awhile huh? It's been interesting around my neck of the woods, a hot mess some would say. (I say hot only because I have spent the majority of the last 48 hours hot.)

Hot from sitting outside in 2 hour football practices and then hot from not having any air at home. You see when small tornados go through your home town, you tend to sit in the dark for quite some time. It sucks but at least we are all safe and our home is intact, so I suppose I can do with out the luxury of air and the internet.

Monday night as we were coming in the house from practice, the town's tornado sirens where going off. Seriously after 8 years of living there, I had never heard them. Quite alarming to say the least(yes, exactly what they are supposed to do). Down to the basement we went as we listened to all the high winds, hail, thunder and lightening hitting trees(we stayed hot). Not the funnest of times, but we made it. I think JC might have enjoyed it a bit.

After about and hour and a half we gathered our blankets and headed upstairs to begin our long night by candle light (and hot air). Soon while in the stale (hot air) of our home we slept, hoping power would be restored.

Alas by 7 am, no power and even hotter air. It wasn't until then that we realized that there were indeed tornadoes. No power+no daycare=mommy call off. JC and I did manage to hit the mall for an hour to cool off but the rest of the day was spent in a powerless, hot ass house. (One thing I despise is sitting still and sweating)

Until now. Now I sit at my mommy's house, with air and the internet. Ah the internet. As I go over all my emails I can only sit and be thankful that I was only hot and our only loss was food. It could have been worse....

That storm was crazy! We did not lose power or have any major damage...but it was quite a show. And, I am in the same boat with you on the 2 hour long sticky football practices. I have one in football and one in cheerleading so it is like double the misery. This is our first year...and (I hate to sound negative) but maybe the last!

Glad you're safe, CE. Seriously. I was emailing back and forth with Beth last night and giving her weather updates while she sat in her basement last night. Scary stuff. Hope they restore your power soon. I know how it is after living in Houston for 13 years with hurricanes and tropical storms. It seems like it takes fo-evah for them to get the damn power on. Hope you don't sweat too much ;)

It was getting unbearable for me- the darkness I can take, but not the no-air. It was smelling like feet big time in my house.

Oh dear. I'll take my flooded crawl and dripping ceiling over no air any day at this poing. I hope you get power back soon!

Oh, I am so glad to hear from you. I thought about you when I saw on the news where the tornado's hit. I am thankful we were only without power about 10 min. Glad you are safe and sound and your house is still standing. Hopefully by now, your power is restored...

I'm glad to hear that you are all safe and sound. I was watching the weather and cringing with all the tornados around you all. I'm glad you found some cool air and the internet. Hope you get yours back soon!!

Thank goodness you all were safe, hot but safe none-the-less. Now when I type out my hotmail address, I think of you;-)

I haven't been able to get on the computer because of the storm until just now. (Wed., even work was down yesterday)

I'm glad you and your family are o.k., when I saw your area was hit I thought about you.

I've been going crazy wanting to read blogs and find out if everyone was o.k.

I hope you get your air back soon.

We lost power recently for a couple of hours and I was complaining about it! We are so used to just having it that we don't even know what to do with ourselves when we don't have it! Then I heard a story from a woman that lived in a poor country (blanking on which one?!?). She said that the gov't controlled the power and would only turn it on for one hour a day! Yes, like you I am thankful!!!!

So happy you guys made it through unscathed! We have had our fair share of time spent in the basement ,although not in a few months.

My favorite was last summer. I was about a million months pregnant and it was the hottest summer in 20 flippin years! We had a terrible thunderstorm and our power was out for too many hours. I was just about to go to my mother's to steal her air conditioned air, when ours finally came back to life! I hope your house does that soon :)
