Crooked does Gustav in 2008

Well folks, it's 3 am on what's supposed to be an end of summer celebration and on this labor day I find myself leaving for Hurricane Gustav. Yes, people are running away and Crooked Eyebrow is flocking towards it. Kind cool huh? An experience I am surely going to remember for the rest of my life.

No it's not through the red cross, although I do support them fully. I am one of a few in the Chicagoland area for the company I work for that is actually being deployed. Let's just say I'll most likely be dusting off some of my ol' nursing tricks that I haven't used in awhile. It's most certainly going to be a mental and a physical challenge(A challenge I asked and volunteered for).

Hopefully all goes well and the support that is headed to the gulf coast at this time will have been able to learn so much more since Hurricane Katrina. So if I'm not around, you now know that Crooked is off playin' with Gustav. Peace out.

Oh, what an exciting opportunity. My sister and family weathered the hurricane today in Welsh, La. We chatted via the web cam before it hit this morning. They lost power but are safe. I will be praying for you and am so proud of you to give of yourself to others in need. Stay safe and can't wait to hear all about your trip when you get back...
