Your questions, part I

Remember when I asked for questions?

Lissa asked:

How/when did you get into photography?
Well, My first camera was 110 film and since then I can not remember a time without a camera. I love them. But it wasn't until the great era of digital photography did I truly fall in love with photography. The best part being the instant gratification of seeing your shot and not having to pay for each shot to be developed. It's beautiful I tell ya....

Any Tattoos?
I do. Do you have any Lissa? I have a sun/moon and Stars on my right lower back and Chinese characters of "sisters" on my left foot. My sister has a matching one on her right foot. Cute huh?

A story with my first tattoo was that my mom threatened my young life if I ever got one and threatened to kick me out. (yeah but at18 I still took her seriously) Well I got it and for a week I tried like hell to hide it but I had to come clean. She knew something was up since I wasn't walking around in my bra in the morning like I normally would. That was one of the toughest weeks ever.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I wish I could have better self-esteem and not be so negative.

Only one? That's it??

What are your favorite subjects to shoot?
I go through phases. Recently it was people, I love the emotions that can be caught with portraits. Mostly, things that catch my eye. Like when I was walking in Chicago and saw the way the sunbeams and shadows were against a brick wall. Love it. I think photography makes you look at things in this world with a closer eye and it makes me appreciate it all the more.

Christy asked:

If you could change one thing about your life, what would it be?

Honestly, this is hard because I do think I have a pretty sweet life. I guess it would be that I didn't have to work full time so that I could have more time to do the things in life that make me truly happy. Like being home for my son more, photography and not have to stress for time anymore.

Since #1 was so deep, I'll keep the rest light! What's your favorite beverage? Alcoholic and non-alcoholic?

I am sad to report that I don't drink.
Ha...
I couldn't even type that without laughing. For me it's mixed drinks. Not quite the beer fan, but I love peach margaritas, cosmos and sangria

What made you decide to become a nurse?
A lot of reasons actually. As a child I was always sick and the one thing I remember as a child were the nurses. I knew I wanted to work in the medical field and that I loved to help people. Originally I wanted to go to school to be a nurse practitioner, but it didn't happen....

What's the most rewarding aspect of your job?

My "specialty" in nursing is wound care and podiatry. My favorite part in wound care is taking an ulcer(sore) that hasn't healed in months and slowly start to heal it. With each weekly visit I get to see the progress that I helped with. My actions have caused a few vets not to lose limbs. That's what I love, healing.

I love the questions and I have many more to answer. A lot of requests for photos too!
but for now, dont' forget the giveaway for a $75 gift cert for RIDEMAKERZ

I love hearing your answers!! And I do have tattoos, two so far: my first was a memorial to my Grandpa who died two years ago -a horseshoe with a lily and vines intertwined (he loved horseshoes and I put one in his casket with him) and my second I got a few months ago on the inside of my left wrist -5 stars with black swirly lines through the design (one for my hubby, and one for each of the kids and they chose the color they wanted).

I loved reading your answers! My sister is a nurse, too, and her specialty is wound care. She works corporate for BMS now, but back when she did wound care, she used to gross me out with the nastiest stories.
Also, my dad hates tattoos so much that I kept mine a secret for six years. It's on my hip, so it was pretty easy to keep covered. He found out when Luke was born because he was in the room. Luckily, he was so overwhelmed by seeing the birth of his grandson that he just jokingly said, "Sooo, when'd you get that tattoo?"
