So things are moving and shaking over in the Crooked Eyebrow house. The kitchen is done. Her room is almost complete and I am happy to report that I am now on maternity leave. No more scrubs for me until (hopefully) January 2010! Wonderful feeling, wonderful indeed.
Last night as I was baking (first in the new kitchen, wish I could share) I started having contractions. Like "hold the counter this is uncomfortable" contractions. My heart was pounding with excitement thinking that Miss E was about to make her debut. But....of course I am still typing this pregnant and there isn't any sweet little photos of her yet. DAMN.
Just the thought of finally being able to hold her brought me so much comfort last night. I may be nervous about her birth or the changes at home, but the thought of my precious daughter in our arms is the biggest miracle and gift that I could have ever asked for.
and speaking of holding...what about babywearing?
After watching all my friends and other bloggers wear their babies over the last several years I longed to try it with my own, but JC was born to early before it became more of a modern day practice. Sure mothers have been doing in for many, many years, but not in the style that they are now. I thought I missed the boat on baby wearing. I guessed wrong. Who knew I would ever have another child? Not I.
As soon as I found out I was pregnant with Miss E I had planned to try babywearing. We have a sling, wrap and pouch just waiting for her. Now? I'm even more excited. You see, Steph from Adventures in Babywearing is holding a contest with Sakura Bloom. The Sakura Bloom Triathlon where 7 moms were chosen to try 3 different types of slings out for 2 weeks. All while documenting via photos, posts and even video to share the experience.
Well guess what?
I am one of those moms and I could not be more excited. (ok the birth of my daughter sometime this week is more exciting) but, how cool is this?
I've watched people wear their baby and now I get to share my first experience doing so with my new born. So stay tuned. Not only for her birth but for Miss E in the fabulous slings too!
