What a year 2009 has been. It has been a wonderful year for me. Sure there were ups and downs, but with the birth of our daughter, I will remember 2009 as being a blessed year.
Looking back, this week last year Mr. CE and I had a kid free week and had ourselves a blast. Such a good time was had on New Years, that the party still continues. Her name is Eden. (woot!) January I remember being ill with food poisoning, only to find out 2 weeks later that I, CE, was pregnant after so many years of not being able to.
Then February came and gave us the scare of my life but still made me believe in miracles. March went quickly and for that I was happy. To think that I spent that entire month with morning sickness, I'm not even sure we had a March. Did we? I think I slept through it. In fact I think I may have even slept through April too.
In May, fabulous things happened. I turned 30, found out we were having a girl, JC learned to ride his bike, and I watched the beauty of spring through my camera. As the summer got under way, there were trips to Chicago, JC learning to swim, expanding bellies and even a surprise shower. Oh the spring was so good to me.
Summer came fast and with a growing belly, I honestly have to say that I was thankful for working in air conditioning. July was a busy month and when we started getting things ready for a new baby. We started it by gutting and doing a complete kitchen renovation. Watching my belly grow was one of my biggest joys. This baby girl was 30 weeks along and things were going fast, but not as fast as Erin's birth.
Hot, nasty August finally made its way in and you know where I spent my August? Football. Practice every night. Do you know how hot it is for a 34 week pregnant mommy? Hot. But I loved watching JC play and I was so proud to see him improve so much in one year. OH that boy, it is hard to believe he started the third grade. It seem like yesterday we were walking him to kindergarten.
This is about where I started to panic about not having enough time and realizing that 2009 flew by and I was about to have a baby. Things were crazy busy with football, Jc and mommy time, the kitchen remodel, my growing belly, photo shoots and finally getting the nursery done. Phew. busy.
I feel like I need to take a break just from going back and reading everything up till now. 2009 was busy!
Well here is the point of my pregnancy where I was done and getting ready to check out. Every day I started the day thinking, "this could be it!". Nope, my belly continued to grow, I got anxious and false labor just continued to taunt me. Then with the helps of wonderful friends, I had the best labor ever. Finally our sweet eden elise arrived 6 days late. I watched JC grow into being a big brother and I found myself taking on new roles as a mother of two. (her birth story is here)
November, yeah...where did that month go? I was most likely sleeping on the couch, nursing or babywearing. Being part of the Sakura Bloom challenge was an amazing experience being a first time babywearing mom. I now love having her so very close. In the end I was so very thankful for my healthy growing baby and for my two children.
Always my baby, but now he is 9. JC celebrated his 9th birthday, and to this day it seems like he should only be one still. This boy has grown so very much and I am so proud of him. We had a nice December this year, out side of 2 family deaths, it was a nice way to finish up my maternity leave. Having time off for the holiday was wonderful and I loved every minute of it.
This year was a year to teach me to believe, know and accept love and to appreciate everyone around me. I am and will always be grateful for this past year. It is my hope that 2010 will hold such amazing things for my family . It is also my hope that you, the people who actually read this from time to time, will also have a happy, healthy 2010.
Happy New Years!
With Much love,
